This is the camera that started me down the road of
Photography. It is a great little camera and is built
like a tank.
For a long time, I just kept it in my glove compartment in
case I saw something driving home. There may be better
point and shoot cameras out there now. The main
problem for me was the lag between each shot that made it
difficult to photograph my dogs when they were on the run.
Obviously, there are other benefits to a DSLR, but this
camera can be inconspicuous for street shots. I still
keep it in my arsenal for that reason.
UPDATE:
I just got a good deal on an underwater housing from ebay, so
I will review as soon as I get it and test it (7/22/06):
I opted to get
this housing instead of the
Olympus 720SW
for now. There were three reasons:
1. I was able to find this housing for right at $100 and the
Olympus is $330.
2. This housing can go to depths of 100 feet and the Olympus
can only go down to 10 feet.
3. The resale value of my S45 is low and I like the image
quality and did not want to sell it for the current prices.
The camera is built like a tank and I have tossed it in my
glove compartment without worrying about hurting anything.
